  1. because what happens in vegas, stays in vegas.

  2. Actually, prostitution is legal everywhere in Nevada _except_ Vegas.

The short answer is that there is no federal law against prostitution or drinking in public, so it is up to the states. Nevada voted to legalize prostitution, and there you go.

Utah could do the same...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

  3. Prostituation is still illegal in Clark County...you have to go to rural Nevada for that (like Pahrump in Nye County).

  4. Evidently you haven't been to New Orleans...

  5. Prostitution is not legal in vegas. There are only two counties in the entire state where Brothels are legal, both adjacent to the counties that Reno and Vegas are in. The brothel is stricktly monitored and code enforced as far as business licences, business state and ferderal taxes, etc.

  6. Because the City Of Las Vegas made laws like that. Your city could if they wanted to...but most cities don't want that going on.

Also - since prossing is legal (taxable by the city as a business), and people want to drink while walking the streets, they drink more - adding funds to a huge tax base for the city. Free Enterprise, baby!

  7. i don't know but i always find those type of girls around my block..and there are tons of strip clubs around the las vegas strip

  8. vegas is SIN CITY thus drunk  w*ores with a gambling problem......wasnt vegas taken over by mobsters and celebritys anyway? i guess the prostitutes are part of the gears that run the playground of vegas. cant really see that sort of thing taking place in a state like .......utah? right?

  9. because to make massive money you have to put up or overlook certain things. You can not have vegas without the alcohol or the s*x.

  10. actually, it isn't legal.

i think the cops just gave up on all of us vegas-natives a long time ago.

  11. A:  Prostitution is NOT legal is Las Vegas.

B:  Drinking in public is not allowed unless you have it in a plastic cup.

  12. Let's clear up a few misconceptions here.

Prostitution is legal in Nevada, but dependant on the county.  Clark (Las Vegas), Washoe (Reno), and Lincoln (southeast) counties do not allow prostitution.

The Strip is not within the City of Las Vegas.  The Strip is in incorporated Clark County.  The City of Las Vegas's southern border is Sahara Avenue.  The Strip is the part of Las Vegas Boulevard from Sahara south to Russell, the southern border of Mandalay Bay.  King Oscar and the City of Las Vegas city council have no direct legislative impact on The Strip.

Drinking in public away from the Strip, or the Fremont Street Experience, is not allowed.  Special rules apply to those two corridors.  And where do you get that drinking in public isn't allowed anywhere else in America?  (Note the captial letter 'A'... Press down on the shift key prior to pressing another key will create a capital letter.  You have a full keyboard so stop texting).  Have you never been to a sporting event? A picnic?  An arts & crafts fair?  Mardi Gras as mentioned earlier?  Public intoxication is still frowned upon along The Strip and is underage drinking.

  13. i think becuase not a lot of people like to get drunk there and then gamble and there isn't a lot of other gamling places aroud idk

  14. i think it is a social schizophrenia

  15. In Nevada, prostitution is legal everywhere except Clark County (Las Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno) with the following restrictions...1) NO streetwalking; 2) must be licensed with the state gaming comissiona and the health dept; must be tested monthly for STD's...among others

It happens in Vegas only cause certain things are not enforced.

  16. Because it's sin city....duh
