I always here people saying that people working out need to consume protein b/c it helps with repairing the microtears and it creates an environment that stimulates protein synthesis. Our bodies have a finite number of muscle cells, right? So, does the protein synthesis create an environment where you are repairing the damage done to many muscle fibers? I would so appreciate someone breaking down how protein synthesis really works...in laymens terms. Thanks ya'll.

  1. People who do exercise do get bigger muscle mass. The muscle cells get bigger. All the increases require more protein synthesis.
