  1. Well, you got 3 good answers about Electronics so far.

Psychology is a science. It uses empirical data to analyze behavior and mental processes.

Psychiatry is a subarea of Medicine.

Pharmacy is a subarea of Medicine (which a part of has to do with Chemistry).

  2. electronics is an application of the science of physics, just as farming is a form of biology. a psychologist is a "scientist" only in the sense that the degree is BS and not BA.  a historian is not usually called an "artist" even though the degree is BA. The division of study between Art and Science is somewhat arbitrary and has nothing to do with a person being an artist or a scientist.

  3. You are quibbling terminology.  A research physicist investigating the properties of electromagnetic fields would be called a scientist.  If he were applying known physics to make circuits work better, he would be called an applied physicist or an engineer.

  4. Electronics would be an application of physics.  Physics would be the science, electronics is just a use of the physics.

  5. You confused me...psychology is not a science!  It is more of a study of the human mind.  Psychiatry comes close to a science, as they include drugs, which require chemist; a science.  Electronics is a science, and requires more than the understanding of electricity!  You need to look elsewhere if your college or university claims otherwise!
