  4. just because. This is the best answer ever.

  5. Domenico (Charlie) DeDomenico and his family operated a pasta factory in San Francisco. His son, Paskey, came up with the name Golden Grain Pasta Company. One of their products was Rice-a-Roni.

The widespread acceptance of television allowed them to advertise their product as "The San Francisco Treat". So it was a combination of where the family business, a catchy jingle and good marketing that created this title.

  6. Roni is the capital of san francisco... duh

  7. Because it's flavor can't be beat.

Because it's advertised on all the cable cars.

Because you can take home a year's supply by losing on "The Price Is Right."

Because of the Chinese/Italian influence in that city. Chinatown and North Beach are pretty close to each other, and it represents the best of both.

Because SF is arguably the coolest city in America, and calling it the Indianapolis Treat just wouldn't be as appetizing.

And on a purely personal note, I think it's time for Rice A Roni to hand down the title to the mission-style burrito.

  8. Because Rice a Roni is made in SFO.

  9. Cuz it was made in F-ING San Francisco duh!!!!
