  4. well, stop it Missy. That's our poor people food. I can get 6 bricks of noodles for 89 cents and that my friend makes it a staple in my pantry

  5. Because it fills you up, It's only like 8 cents, and there are so many flavors.

  6. So 2000 calories for less than $2 US.

But hardly any vitamins at all and not healthy.

  7. because its cheap to get and its considered a 'whole meal'

(meaning it has flavors and isnt just plain like eating bread)

  8. Because its really cheap so its ideal for people who cant afford better food (like students, etc. )

  9. Class has very little to do with taste. If you like it, enjoy it.  Be careful though it is loaded with sodium (that is what makes it tasty) and other odd chemical stuff, but it is inexpensive, and it does fill you up.  Polenta and pasta too in Italian cuisine had the same function.

    Take care

  10. Very cheap, and loads of carbs.

Sorta like rice.Crackers, potatoes, and pasta.

In the case of ramen, there is high salt content and high bad fat.

It is like eating a heart attack.

  11. Cheep, easy to make, and soooo very yummy ^_^

  12. because it runs $.25 a pop.. easy to make.  i do have to say i LOVE ramen!

  13. I like the ramen in a cup. The noodles are finer. You just put water in it and nuke it for a couple of minutes, and let it stand for 5.  I like to add grated cheddar and more vegetables. The soup in a couple has around 300 or so calories in it.

  14. It is my guilty pleasure.  But surely you understand the reputation it has when it only costs .10 a pack.

But I'm the same as you. Upper middle. Love it too.

  17. because it's so gooood..and when the rich find out about it, we'll never be able to afford it again, so stock up, while you still can.

  18. because it is cheap and filling. Wish we could et it at that price. 25-35 cents a pack. outrageous

  19. 10 packages for $1... explains why ramen is the staple for the  "poor man" or the "poor college" student.

Any price higher... you're getting ripped off!

  20. Because the poor people of Japan from ancient times ate Ramen all the time.  Translated from Japanese, it means "sawdust".

  21. Because it's extremely cheap and can be made into a meal for very little money.

  22. There's ramen and then there's ramen.

The instant stuff is made by deep frying the noodles, making instant ramen the perfect recipe for clogging your arteries and increasing your chances of getting a heart attack.  So it's basically cheap poison that poor people can afford to eat.

Then there is real ramen that is served in ramen shops and restaurants.  These are made with fresh ramen noodles that are sometimes hand made, and often served with delicately roasted pork, kobu, mushrooms and other delectables.  It's not expensive food, but it will cost about 5 to 10 bucks a bowl.

  23. Cheap and Tasty. You can get lots of flavors too.

  24. 'cause it's cheap...usually about 4 pkgs. for $1., that's 25 cents a meal...that's cheap!

  25. It's tasty and it's cheap.

    Also, it's easy to make.
