Why is Miley Cyrus one of Time's Most Influential People Pf 2008?!

I just don't get it...what has she done? I know she is popular with the kids but seriously that's like the only thing besides wasting your time and money on her toys, dvd's, cd's etc!

The same reason Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Brittany Spears and Lindsay Lohan are.  The media has become so invasive and widespread that these young girls are scrutinized unfairly and their "normal" lives are made public.  I am sure Miley and family did not want the attention they have received of late.  She is like many other child stars and I fear for her future.  She IS a talented performer and who are we to say how others want to make a living?

Wtf?? Hows she one of the most influential people of 2008?? She hasn't done anything for charity, she hasn't influenced voters.. all shes done is rip people off with her re.tard.ed  concert/movie  and stuff... one time my little sister bought some Hannah Montana shoes and they were ripped and unusable in about a week.. omg...I really dislike miley..shes even on the wonderful world of Disney  opening theme... with mickey mouse, the Disney princesses and pirates of the Caribbean...is Miley anywhere near the "status" of mikey mouse???!?! I mean pleasse he's been around for years, people need to stop acting like shes Oprah, I think the low intelligence of some children may have to do with it but the main thing is that Disney has that much power... her show is okay, but her songs are horrible.. "let's go g-n-o" i mean what is that!???
