Why is sleeping in humidity good for the voice?

I'm seeing a vocal couch because ive been told that i have a good voice(i can sing 5.1 octaves) and my couch told me that i should sleep with some humidity in the room,but i don't understand why?

When you sleep in a room with humidity, your lungs can breathe normally and keep your lungs healthy. If you want to sing, you do want to sing clearly, right? Also, to prevent sore throat and dry throat. So, that's all I can explain to you.
