I see the world snooker this year it only had players from china and one Aussie. It like a longer verison of the UK championship It's just not like world pool where players in that game come from everywhere.

  1. yeh right indian i doubt you could break 100, also there is absolutely no way any mid range or even high level pool player would stand a chance at snooker on the pro tour playing hendry and o'sullivan. anyways, its as the others said snooker is not as accesable generally as pool. snooker is traditionally more popular in the uk. i know here in australia and in my town about 3 places in the last 18 months have got rid of their snooker tables unfortunately and kept just their pool tables.... there isnt as much demand or money in snooker tables for the venue owners.

  2. So Tony why can A top Snooker player not beat a Mid level pool player ??

But to answer its just not as popular I play hundreds or even thousands of games of pool a year but only 10 or 12 games of Snooker But still run 90 to 100 points

  3. snooker can be a long tactical game with very small pockets so accuracy is paramount.

and as for pool especially american pool tables the pockets are so big you can put your head in the pocket.

Pool is played in bars and easily accesible as snooker tends to be in members only clubs.

a lot of people do not have the patience or temperament for snooker whereas pool is faster and a lot easier.

    good question

  4. Probably a few reasons, you can't really have a quick game of snooker like you can pool (unless you're very good). Pool tables are mostly in pubs where as you usually need to go a club to play snooker + book a table. Snooker is a much more difficult game to play as the table is twice the size of a pool table and the pockets are smaller in relation to the size of the balls (ooh errr!) I think they're both good games in their own right but watching snooker is far more interesting that watching pool + more skill is required.
