  1. because even though u probably won't, you can die

  2. We as humans are dealing with gravity every day of our life.  Without it, we might float up off the ground, tip over, or any number of other odd events.  Bungee jumping does not keep us in our comfort zone.  We are dangling off the end of a rope tied around our ankles, which propells us toward the ground, and we have nothing to hold on to, nor do we have any control over the situation once we jump.  Before we jump, we are in complete control.  It is difficult because it is not someting we do everyday! (I mean throw ourselves off a ledge, tower, whatever, with a rope tied to our ankles,)  That is extremely disconserting.  Why is it thrilling, it is because if you remember for a moment that you are experiencing something completely new, and forget that you should be afraid, the absolute adrelinen (sp) will charge through you, and you will feel like you are flying.  Aside from para sailing, parachute jumping, or gliding, there is nothing like the feeling of freedom when you drop into nothingness, and bounce on the end of the rope, hanging in mid air.  It is a true rush.  Like I said, it is difficult because it is possible for some things to go wrong, but they don't!  So the fear is turned into bravery for putting yourself out there in such a challenging way.
