Amarnath issue shook India & central govt but Jammu & Kashmir population has 15,00,000 nomads called Gujjar & Bakkarwal who have no permanent shelters & are totally illiterate too. They live at higher reaches of wooded mountains in summer & came down in Kashmir valley in winter. They have herds of goats & sheep in large numbers, mostly controlled by one person only. During climate change periods, they travel about 300 km walking continuously. They live in temporary shelters, often damaged by storms. I've seen many of them walking from Rajauri hilly forests to Srinagar in May. Their even correct census is not done anytime. They say that none says them to be theirs. If one asks them to pose for photographs, their children make their cattles riding on their shoulders & pose. They're so much poor that they have not even seen any toothpaste. Why is no attention paid for them by world community ?
