I went into Taco Bell and all the girls my age (im 15) and even younger were wearing such skimpy clothing...some were wearing bikini tops with mini skirts...whatever happened to "No shirts, no shoes, no service?" Then I went into the mall and it got even worse...girls were wearing more make-up than clowns...what is going on?

  1. Because our society is sick and screwed up and narcisistic.  The marketers and media feed that and so many parents today refuse to set strong standards and expect decent behavior from their  kids.  When the standard is set so low that almost anything goes, is it any wonder teens live that way?  I can't fathom why some parents even let their daughters (and sons in some cases) leave the house half dressed.  What's amazing is when these girls get gawked at by boys, they then call the boys pigs.  If you don't want to sell something, then don't advertise it.

  2. media media media

  3. Everyone wants to be accepted by their peers.  Teenagers are going through their identity formation and it is even more important for them.  Also, teenagers are supposed to push the boundaries of the society.  It used to be long hair on guys but this is now accepted.

s*x really sells and society is rewarding people particularly girls for dressing s**y.  Since Bill Clinton, oral s*x, is not s*x.

Many parents give vicarious pleasure out of their daughter's dressing this way.  They are able to live out some of their own fantasies.

Also, just watch TV and we tend to emulate our stars.  For some reason girls want to be like Britney.

It will likely get worse in the US.  However, in Europe and other places the human body is seen very different and nudity is much more accepted.

  4. I couldn't agree with you more!

    I blame the parents

  5. you can't blame it on just society  also blame the parents who buy these things for their girls.  parents could stop all of this if they would just talk to their daughters about self-respect and self-worth.

  6. Some girl's have low self esteem so they are socialized to act that way.  The streets and television are raising a lot of kids.

  7. It's really disgraceful but it's good to know there are young girls like you who recognize it as a societal problem. A lot of it is in my opinion thanks to hollywood, popular music, etc...

  8. It's ridiculous, isn't it?

  9. IT'S CALLED LACK OF PARENTING.  PARENTS ARE THE ONES THAT BUY THE CLOTHES.  AND EVEN IF IT'S THE CHILD THAT BUYS THE CLOTHING ITEM IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENT TO MONITOR THE CHILD.  PEOPLE NOW A DAYS ARE SO QUICK TO BLAME THE MEDIA AND MAYBE THEY DO ENTICE OR GLAMOURIZE IT BUT IT IS STILL THE DUTY OF THE PARENT TO DO JUST THAT..... PARENT!
