  1. Soda is banned from the schools because the government is trying to do something about our kids being overweight.

  2. Soda pop is a bunch of empty calories with absolutly no nutrition.

Not only do you not get a signle vitamin or mineral from soda pop but it is loaded with corn syrup.

    This causes 2 things.

    1. It can make you quite fat. Eating fat is not the only thing that makes you gain weight. If your body does not burn off sugar calories they are converted by the body to fat.

    and

    2. Energy from sugar is not a good source of energy, in fact it is opposite. Sugar gives you a short burst of energy but afterwards the body tends to "crash" having a down time making students groggy, cranky, and hard for them to focus.

All these reasons are very good resons to avoid soda pop, especially in schools. Now at a dance you would think they would be a little more lax however it is sometimes simpler to say no to all times, then to try and make rule where it is sometimes it is ok and sometimes not. This is harder to enforce and sends a mixed message.

  3. Cuz American kids are getting HUGE!!!!

  4. I don't understand why they would have even allowed it in the first place. We had milk. And it was a *huge* deal when they put in a powerade machine in the gym and started offering juice (as well as milk) with lunch. And no, this wasn't that long ago.

  5. there is absolutly no nutritional value what so ever thats why

  6. Too fattening.  It leads to obesity in young people.
