1. I like Alice & Jasper Cullen, but I agree that the first book was kind of lame...read The Host I really, really, liked that book.

  2. i haven't read twilight yet but im starting to read new moon. i think that new moon is the best among the twilight series.

  3. I don't know. I don't understand it, either.

I think there was a lot of hype created about it, and the characters being perfect (and lacking any depth, too.) may have helped a little.

But I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that almost any girl can insert herself into Bella's position, because in the books, she has no personalities or defining traits, other than being beautiful / mysterious / alluring, which the target demographic for this book wants to be, I guess.

  4. I think it's all hype. I don't even know, the storyline's not original and vampires are so old. I mean there's so many romances out there about vampires.

  5. Well , the author apparently thinks that her character is independent and strong! But , the character of Bella is nothing else but Mary Sue.

I find Bella to be somewhat selfish , annoying character , and she's not independent at all , nor strong. She's damsel in distress , and she cannot survive without her boyfriend Edward , who's actually a control freak , but he's described as being perfect. She just can't stand on her own two feet by herself , always is in company of Edward , Jacob

    or whatever....

You can actually see this by reading New Moon (the second book of the series). when Edward leaves her , she's completely crashed , desperate and she doesn't have any reason left for living.

From this , you can see how much she's "independent" and "strong".

I think that her character is the most vulnerable and weakest from all other characters from the book.

The author (Stephenie Meyer) desperately needs a dictionary to learn what really means to be independent and strong.

As for the inspiration , the writer said that her idea came from a dream. She was inspired by the dream and wrote this book.

    xx Greetings

  6. I've read all 4 of the Twilight series books and I have to admit, I was like you at first..I didn't know what all the hype was about. But what I came to love about it was the mysticalness (i dont think this is a word haha) of it and the romance between the 2 characters. I think most teenage girls love it so much due to Edward Cullen and every girl dreams of a studly guy to fall in love with who is also going to treat them magnificently.

As for why Stephenie Meyer wrote the stories...here's her website with how she came with it.

  7. To answer what I think was a question in your rambling: she was inspired to write it because of a dream she had.

    Why is it so popular?

Because even people who DON'T like it (read: YOU) keep it in the limelight with questions like this.

  8. hahaha i noo its terrible

i have no idea why its popular maybe because its different and has a boy in it

    xx

  9. I read in a special edition that had an interview at the end of it and one of the questions was what inspired you? and she said that they story came to her in a dream or something like that
