    on one side if you are in vegas sportsbook its perfectly legal, if you use online sportsbook its legal, if you go to the horsetrack its legal.

    but if you go to a local bookie thats not legal and its not legal becuase basically the government can't tax the money you win


  2. It is a slightly shiczo view by the US government and all to do with anti-racketing legislation. Basically the people love gambling but the legislators are scared stiff about giving more power to the gangsters and mafia.

  3. It is illegal to use a local bookie, but it is LEGAL if you use an offshore sportsbook such as those recommended at http://GamblingReviewsSite.com  There is no federal law prohibiting US residents from using  online offshore sports betting sites.
