  1. The chicken, or the egg, Bron_X... Which came first?

  2. They dont have a good life, and need something to fall back on. Think about what they do all day. It is their life, basically..

  3. The vast majority of chronic homeless people have substance abuse problems.

It is their substance abuse problems and their inability to control them that caused them to be homeless.

Excessive drinking and excessive drug use is a cause for someone to be fired from their job, never find a job and for people in their lives to ostracize and abandon them.

The next largest percentage of homeless are there for a true financial hardship but this is usually not chronic.  They have the skills, social ability and discipline to get them selves back on their feet.

The next group are said to have mental problems and are unable to cope with it themselves.

The last group is said to be homeless by choice.  One could say that people that abuse alcohol and drugs make a decision to do this.  That is another debate.

    Good Luck

  4. I think it is the substance abuse that causes the majority of the homelessness.
