  1. In a lot of countries, there are so many farmers that they cannot efficiently work the land.  Result is a wage that is often below the subsistence wage.  (think about sub-saharan Africa.)  Sustainable agriculture would help get some of these people out of agriculture so that the farmers who are left are able to generate a surplus and sell it on the market for a living wage.  Does that answer your question properly?

    As for an example... there are probably some programs in more-developed African nations such as Kenya.
