Why is swiss chocolate so popular?

simply because its delicious, more delicious than other chocolates, or it could be psychological, because you know its swiss chocolate, you already think it is delicious.

It has to do with the mixture of the ingredients. I am Swiss myself living in Brazil and I find it hard to find chocolate here which is comparable to the real Swiss one. I believe Swiss (industrial) chocolate contains usually more milk and/or butter which makes it softer and smoother.

On the other hand this recipe favor's melting. This should be one reason why chocolate is not produced the same way in tropical countries.



By the way there are also some Swiss chocolate brands I do not like. I think one cannot say all Swiss chocolates are the same.

Handmade Swiss chocolate on the other side has some extraordinary creations and is almost worth a trip to Switzerland just for this chocolate.

Hint: There are also some expat-Swiss confectioners which produce chocolate as good as the Swiss one. It's worth

I believe the Swiss people themselves are unique - this is a people whose characteristics reflects the highest positive attributes of human nature. Given these, their approach to everything they do are based on the "Quality Factor" - hence quality of cocoa beans, ingredients, production techniques make Swiss chocolates superior.

Been there, stuffed my face in Cafe Sprungli, Zurich and a few other picture-perfect Swiss towns - almost heaven!
