Why is team USA shooting so bad from the 3 point line?

its closer than the nba. international ppl r used to it. but its like a mid range shot for the USA..and not every1 can shoot those...(cough cough KOBE) xD

Team USA isn't shooting that well from the 3 because they don't have to. Maybe if there was more pressure, they'd be makin' them, but when you win games with 20+ points, you aren't pressured to make 3's.

It could be many reasons but since Kobe is not shooting well, he is a great shooter, I think it's because they are putting so much emphasis and exerting so much energy on defense that they may not be concentrating on the 3.

Lebron, Carmelo, and Wade combine for a 29% clip for their careers from 3 point land. None of them has been a consistent shooter from 3. Chris Paul, Derron Williams, and Jason Kidd are usually dishing the ball to those guys as well as Boozer, Howard and Bosh. Obviously the big men don't shoot 3's and the guards are dumping it off to everyone else. Tayshaun Prince shoots 36.5% for his career, but he rarely gets playing time, Kobe Bryant shoots 45.3% but is playing more of a mid range game, and Michael Redd who rounds out the Olympic Roster shoots 45.2% from 3. Thus your only players that shoot 3's are Lebron Carmelo Wade and Kobe since they play a lot of the minutes and get most of the touches.

Did you seriously just say Kobe can't hit mid range jumpers? Are you retarded? He's one of the top 15 mid range shooters in the NBA, and the best when hot.
