Why is that everyone writes about conserving the envrionment but there is no implementation?

I feel guilty when we are asked to write about our environment. Still knowing the consequences why is man so greedy?

its because majority of the people have great ideas about conserving the environment but too lazy in times of implementation..Its better to do some action first not just saying it.

I think because a big percent of the "common" people that you see on the streets are simple criminals ,that actually doesn,t care for the other's and only their fear is keeping them not to do such more bad things.The live (like Sheakspear told )is a big commedy.But don't worry,these people don't have future.I support your way of thinkig and keep going like this.

I wouldnt say there is NO implementation. I believe that every little bit counts, & making small everyday decisions adds up.

Start supporting green companies & they'll flourish. Buy organic, buy biodegradable, create a demand for it.

Implementation should be voluntary grass roots. Maybe the more you write about it , the more you get people thinking about it. Just like the more that is written about how bad the economy may or may not be, the more people will believe it . A self-fulfilling prophecy.  I don't believe that man is necessarily greedy,  It's just that he may want things for himself or his family that may hurt the environment in some way, but if alternatives don't exist, than he is stuck with what is available. Is it practical to stop driving our cars? No. Should we not heat or cool our homes? No. Should we not purchase anything that is not biodegradable? You can try, but the list is extremely short.

I hope you are not suggesting more laws. There are laws against littering. People still litter.

I don't think you feel guilty about writing about the environment, I think you feel sad that maybe nobody will read or care about what you write. Of course, you could be wrong.

My first response is to say, we have come a long way baby! Just a few short years ago we did not have any environmental groups in the US, government did not do environmental impact studies, no one wondered where the garbage went, etc. etc.  Many people (and religions) now embrace the idea that we are caretakers of this planet, not owners. That is the power of an idea; the power of writing. We still have a long way to go, but change does happen, is happening. Many people try to think about effects on the next generation now. We may someday get to the point where we consider what each decision means to the seventh generation (old American Indian idea).

The Human Right To Peace were citizens to demand the inclusion of it in The Bill Of Rights in The U.S. could counteract greed in one place and the rest of the world could then make The Human Right To Peace a part of the constituition in each. The next step ownership of The Earth by all citizens together. The Right for all citizens to own resources in their own nations without fear of attack by any army in the world. There could be additional rights which would involve protection of The Environment,  Food, Even share of money and such.
