  1. The media talks about all other countries because it's important to them to be globally aware, we, the consumer, need to be globally aware and our federal government must be globally aware. It helps for social and economic reasons to know what exactly is going on in other countries. What we as the media or consumer or the federal government chooses to do with this information is argumentative, but to acquire knowledge and discuss the affairs of other countries is not.

  2. Other countries talk about the US as well. The world is much smaller now because of the Internet.

  3. B.R.I.C. = Brazil, Russia, India and China are the most quickly developing economies in the world today.  Africa also has the interest of rich nations; it's the next area of focus for new development (it also has some really big problems!).  Britain will always be a major player.  The US shows great interest in these areas especially because of increasing interdependence through trade (see WTO) and the IMF / World Bank axis.  Besides economic interests, most of these countries share deep political connections as well.  China and Britain are big trade partners with the US - look at how much US debt is 'owned' by China and Britain.  China has one of 5 seats on the UN Security Council - look at the other members.  Africa has been of interest for a long time because of it's rich natural resources - precious metals and minerals (gold, uranium, diamonds, tungsten, etc.) and oil.  As we witness the evolution of the 'global village' we see the importance of solving big social and economic problems more clearly - rich countries have the power to take the lead, guiding development in the poorer countries (very controversial!).  There is much more to these relationships; i hope this gives you a good place to begin your own research.

  4. BCOZ THEY THINK THEY

    R MORE INTELLIGENT AMONG THEM

  5. Uh, because the people in the US are interested in people all over the world?
