Question:

Why is that we have discovered so much in the past century BUT?

before then, there was a very gradual and at times slow advancement in technology, science and math??? were people not as smart before?? Was it that religion and state overlapped WAY TOO MUCH before and hindered "against the grain" thinking?? etc...all comments appreciated!!

  1. I think the heavy religious beliefs did hinder technological advancements and it became a "rolling stone" once it started.

    It took a while for the new technology to become mainstream and trickle down to the everyday person. Afterward that person gained more personal freedom and longer, healthier life.


  2. 1. The 'dark ages' set us back technologically.

    2. Electricity helped us find more creative and efficient way to do things.

    3. The computer and internet gave us a whole new way of thinking about information.

    We really haven't made that many new discoveries in the last century, just new ways to do what we have already done.
