I have read many notes about selling stocks before the 4th or buying some before the 4th. I am just curious why this date.

  1. I think it's because Goldman Sachs predicted that crude oil price will reach at $150 by July 4th.

And some expect crude oil price will go down for a while after this date. As crude oil declines, stock prices are likely to recover a little.
