  1. The 50 metre line is marked 150 to celebrate 150 years of VFL/AFL footbal in Australia.

  2. LIke everyone else said, its bacause its 150 years of footy

I reckon would have been better to have something painted in the middle of the ground,

( too many people dont seem to know what this 150 is about)

  3. This season of 2008 comemorates the 150 years of AFL/VFL history, through putting the 150 on the 50m line, it represents this & conveys the message of how this is the one hundred and fiftieth year of football in australia. I think it is a bit stupid to put on the 50m line, since its not 150m it looks like it is.

it should be in the middle of the oval or something.

Through putting it there, it reminds us of 150 years, whenever a player marks or is kicking for goal on the 50.

  4. Glad you can see this. Here in America, no footy on television since the final siren of the 2005 Grand Final.

  5. because it is 150m until the other 50m

  6. Its for the 150 year anniversary celebrations. Been that way all year.

  7. To celebrate 150 years of Australian Rules Football. It won't be there next season.

  8. This is something I've been pondering most of the season before it dawned on me a few weeks ago...

Not sure if it's the right one? But I believe it is to highlight the 150 year anniversary of aussie rules football...

    Hope it helps.

  9. It's not a circle,  150 years celebrations it is for.

  10. **It's been that way all season and I would imagine it'll stay that way until the end of season.  It's to mark 150 years of football.**

  11. To celebrate 150 years of AFL/VFL football
