  1. The AFL cap is higher as their TV deal is better than league's. As well they generate more income from their club memberships. This is an area that league is looking at more seriously than in the past.

The AFL is also more traditional than the NRL. Ten AFL clubs are still Melbourne based compared to six stand alone NRL clubs (that is stand alone not those who have merged).

Two Melbourne clubs, South Melbourne and the Fitzroy Lions moved interstate. This keeping of tradition has kept fans in the game and their membership fees.

As well the AFL doesn't have to worry about players going overseas. Where can they go? Gaelic football is virtually amateur.

  2. The ridiculously moronic questions on yahoo never cease to amaze me.  Why do you think their salary cap is larger dim wit?  Because the AFL and it's clubs have more money.

  3. they get more money from tv deals and get bigger crowds. The only reason they dont leave is because no 1 wants them, they r good 4 nothin

  4. the better q? is why is the average wage of a afl player higher than that off nrl player,

i think afl generates far more money in tv rights and attendence,

nrl dont gnerate a quarter of what afl does and therefore players like money bill and gasnier leave.

  5. NRL [sorry Gallop] said "The Game" cannot afford to raise/abolish the salary cap. This is his opinion and he is sticking with it. What'smore as we know Gallop has an inferiority complex which ensures that "The Game" will never be No 1 in Australia.

  6. LOL YOU NOB

Maybe because AFL fields more players on their team and their bench you wanker LOL

    go back to school.
