Who told you that? They were wrong? I like it, as long as its done right. And accessories make it look cute. I so badly want a curly afro...but now that my hair got so long I cant where it anymore...it just hangs down my back...like everyone else. NO uniqueness. But I thank God for it.

Afros worn the right way can look good.

It depends if you mean on a guy or lady... more and more AFRO-American women are beginning to rock natural hair and natural hair styles like the "Afro". (Myself included, that's right and I don't have PINK hair either! LOL.)

But I still don't like the look on guys... I'd rather see a guy with a short cut, bald, or dreds.

It is fashionable....if it looks right on you. My hairdresser has one and it looks great on her! She even put a blonde and red color in it. Shes like the only one Ive seen so far who can pull that look off though! Its eye catching and cute!

When I was in Mombasa, Kenya, one of the locals I dealt with told me they used to laugh at the black American sailors who came there on liberty back in the 70's when they'd pick out their hair into huge 'Afros.'  Chris said they wondered why the MEN wore their hair like WOMEN.

It actually is. Just depends on how you wear it.

Well, it's too hard to manage.I had a big curly fro at once.I couldn't do anything with it.I couldn't sleep in the car because my hair would get flat.It's bad enough I was kinda tall and I had a big fro and sometimes my hair would get tangled in tree branches.I couldn't exercise at the gym because-well you don't wanna imagine.And the worse of all is you always have to carry a brush and a comb.The thing is my hair was nice and curly.But to deal with it is stupid.And because my hair was curly and when it grew longer my fro would fall down.

Trust me it's too hard.And it would take forever just to comb it out.Imagine sleeping with a fro.It's a total mess in the morning.And you will also find yourself combing your hair in the morning more than brushing your teeth and washing up combines.

And one last thing.It doesn't look good on women.Women should not walk around with fuzzy hair like that.It's bad enough a man like me would do it.But for a woman it's not feminine and women should have long, nice, flowing, manageable hair.Not fry, itchy, hard to manage hair.

I was thinking about letting my hair grow out.But not in a fro.My hair was falling down my back but I cut it anyway.I still don't think anyone should do what I did.You will spend most of the day trying to keep it look nice and you're wasting your life.

It is. Its just cuter with a headband or something girly.
