Why is the Barclays ?

it used to always be in Wetchester NY. Anyone know why they changed it to New Jersey?

  2. Yes, because attendance was low, ratings were low since Tiger and Phil weren't there, and the venue wasn't a favorite of many of the players mainly Tiger and Phil.

  4. Several factors, not the least of which was that Westchester membership was split over continuing to host a tournament because the PGA Tour shuts down the club for a couple of weeks, which is precious time to the northern club.

    The contract the PGA Tour and Westchester share will rotate the event back to Westchester one more time in either 2010, 2011 or 2012. Liberty National in Jersey City will host The Barclays in 2009.
