Why is the England national team so c**p?

and the Scottish team, a country so small and with such a c**p domestic game, about to be ranked higher than England in the FIFA world rankings???

The Scots still are excited by the prospect of getting their chance to play for their country, and the english guys are way too set in their ways that they will get in the team because they are a "big name" and have nothing to prove and basically dont put their hearts fully into it

Becuase none of the players care like they do when they do for the club, and the manager does not get them motivated also there is too much rivalry between clubs which affects the team if they played together week in week out they would be world beaters.

Im Italian and I will tell you exactly why:

Scotland has what England does not: Passion, drive, determination, and grrrr!!

England has what Scotland does not: Skill and quality.

But unfortunately you kinda need at least a bit of both or one of one and a bit of the other. England without passion drive and grrr couldn't even qualify for Euro 2008 when Scotland with that alone came so so close but only went out due to losses to smaller teams (with Italy it was expected they could lose but Georgia??)

That is why I think italy, team with no superstars, won WC 2006. Some quality yes, but a lot of group and teamship and drive and grrr put into each game.

Ah...if at least for the Olympics England and Scotland put rivalry aside and put together a GB footie team we might see some metal coming your way.

Hehe, yeah as said above its mainly because Englands football is focused very much on club football with lots of non-English players making up a huge percentage of each team. When it comes to international games this really has quite a kickback. There's a reason why countries such as Germany have strict rules in place as to how many players without German citizenship may play for a club, it prevents clubs from focusing too much on international talent and instead ensuring that good local players get trained up and can compete.

Its not c**p Scots aire it just consistently performs inconsistently! Underperforms time after time!!

It has probably the best squad on paper but they can never seem to play well as a team!
