It used to be so loud when government (police and military) harassed civilians but when victims are being robbed and killed, they are nowhere to be heard. Is the group one-sided? Where are their voices now that innocent civilians are butchered, their houses burned or razed to the ground?

  1. why isn't human right saying anything about the US invading countries and killing innocent people

  2. Do you think its because  the USA may be electing a muslim for president??  my friends in Canada  and the states  don't know of this. They asked why i never went home with my filipina wife?  most were  surprised

  3. these days everything is all about making news and making profit. what we do is reported only if news agencies would make money out of it. if in not reporting thats where the money is then activities stay unreported to the public.

  4. if you are referring to the Commission on Human Rights, they are not always on the look out for Human Rights Violations (HRV's) that are being committed by the military. if the issue happens to be out in the open, that's the only time they would do an investigation.

as for the non-government organizations like the Karapatan, they never cease in broadcasting and aiding the victims of HRV's. the problem is, some media outlets (TV,print and radio) tries to keep the issue at bay by limiting their news to the atrocities or violations done and not on why and who did it. e.g "an old lady and a young boy in Cotabato were killed while evacuating" then the details that follows would only focus on who the lady and the boy was, what caused their deaths but not much on why was there war and who could have done it, etc.

the mainstream media do not give much attention on the issues being brought out by these NGO's since they think it is not sensationalized and it will not bring much profit to them.

that's also one of the reasons why these non-government organizations have their own independent media outlets like bulatlat.com, nordis weekly, etc.

in there wanting to cater to bigger population, they created these outlets.
