Why is the Lone Ranger called 'Lone' if he always has his Indian friend Tonto with him?

  3. Because he fights bad guys and crime alone, meaning no other lawmen help him.

    really? because he is his own law. he and the indian. are by themselves. The lone ranger is even more alone. He does the most work.

    THe Indian is a side kick.

    Like batman and the sidekick robin.
