Why is the Media more competent at doing Background checks on the Palins, than McCains people are?

It is my understanding that McCain's people knew about the 17yr old's pregnancy 3 weeks or more ago.  If you think about the block of folks that Palin is suppose to attract, then little of what we've heard thus far, with the exception of the safety inspector;s termination, is a negative depending upon how it is spun.  In fact - it is quite the opposite.

She is definitely a "feminist" in and of her own right.  No, Palin is not demonstrating, bra-burning, speal giving feminist.  But, she has sucessfully pursued a number of activities and roles outside of the kitchen which we have certainly been led to believe that she achieved on her own right and as a result of her own merits.  On the other hand, she is the mother 5 children who range in age from a few months to almost 20; virtually every mother in America can identify with her and assume that she has the full understanding of their own "mother's issues" despite the age of their children.  Her oldest is about to be deployed to Iraq in a deployment she fully supports which keys her into all of those who have some type of relative overseas.  Early in the publicized background information, we heard that not only is she a gun carrying NRA member but somewhat recently she shot some type of bigger animal for her own protection; I can't remember what kind of animal it was other than in addition to hunting to put food on the table, she has also used her weapon for self-protection.  We've also heard that she has a strong pro-life perspective which she personally followed through on even though the abortion option was available to her with her last child.  Now, Plain brings to the table the experience that either everyone has had and/or knows someone who has had - and that is the situation of her pregnant teen.  The Palin family repsonse is that the teen most definitley will not/did not have an abortion AND will be getting married.  In terms of Palin's personal and family life, pregnant daughter and all, Palin is living the life of a wide cross-section of all women in America.  

Further, if you demographically look at the un and under committed "Hillary women", Palin's personal life has at least a piece and a bit of their reality.  What we heard from the political discussions prior to Palin's nomination was that McCain was OK except for the low and middle income women demographic and particularly in those in PA, Ohio, and one other state; these are typically working mothers with conservative social values, concerns about family in Iraq, and more.  Let's face it, a pregnant teen is either the worry or the reality of most mothers of both teen females and males.  If spun correctly, Palin should appeal to a number of the "Hillary women" as well as many of the Obahma women.

For the Republican party power brokers, Palin brings to the table demonstrated, conservative, family values.  Politically, she has been very vocal about abstinence s*x education, pro-life, pro-gun rights, and many other conservative, Christian family values issues.  Palin brings to the table the willingness to drill for oil which seems to be a more Republican position with respect to solving the economic, energy, and dependancy upon foreign governments issues.  Further, she has demonstrated that she is a "straight arrow" Republican with respect to party allegance.  This should appeal to those who fell away from the Republican Party over the past few years' worth of scandals; also to help McCain distance himself to the Republican Party of George Bush which is now interleaved at various levels through out all of the branches of the government.  And, it should appeal to those who favor McMCain as a Republican maverick.  In large part, McCain's brand of "maverick" seems to be rooted in his integrity.

If we have come to realize nothing more - politicians are people too.  When we expect them to be super-human idols and/or they put themselves up as being so, the reality is that they are not.  Speaking of politics, you cannot be compromized, swayed, or blackmailed if your story is out there; and Palin's certainly seems to be.  While you may not share her values, few can say that her story is much more sorrid than the story of most of America.  Further, she has dealt with her life's bumps in the road pretty much to the script she preaches.  

Do let us remember that Palin's daughter's pregnancy came to light to deal with a far more devistating scenerio.  And that is the gossip that the baby was actually born to the daughter, that the daughter and Palin herself were perpetrating a cover-up, and more I'm sure.   The source of these rumors have not come to light; at least in the general press.  Without a named origin, certainly the unspoken impression is that it came out of the Obahma/Democratic Party camp.

good question because I just finished watch WSVN here in Fl and the noted that the Bristol's baby's daddy said on his myspace page that he does not want kids.

This does not bode well for any union there.

Now on top of that, I just read that while she had been mayor of Wasilla, AK, she had been under recall twice for the same type of tactics she is under investigation for now- abuse of power.

IF and I must note IF this is indeed true, this not definitely not good for the McBush/Palin ticket.
