  1. As a common sense guess because weekends are busy times for racing stables so there is a day between weekend and a tuesday.


  2. Tradition, its been held on the first Tuesday of November for over 145 years.

  3. For the same reason that the Kentucky Derby is the First Saturday in May. .  Tradition holds True. .
