  1. It has a lot to do with NZ history. You see, spending a lot of time making love to sheep can really affect your perspective of life and reality. Unfortunately, sheep have an STD called "HPV", otherwise known as "Human Politico-correcto Virusoid". I think it would be safe to say that many members of the NZ government have caught this virus. There is no cure, except leaving the country.

  2. A good question.  But before I answer it, I haven't travelled outside NZ since 1980.  From what I hear from overseas friends and on the news, it's a worldwide problem.  It's true that here, if you criticise a Maori for anything, you're a racist, and that if you smile at a child, you're a pedophile.  But what's it like where you live?   Political correctness is an industry here in NZ and also in Oz, Britain, the US, Canada and most of the other places where I have regularly-corresponding friends.  Too many people here have a vested interest in counselling professional victims who really need a size 14 boot up the jacksie.  It's an easy way for them to make money.  Tough on the rest of us though.  I bet it's the same where you live though.  In spite of all that, NZ is mostly OK.

  3. Because they are scared of all the blacks and maoris. If they annoy them and don't give them a free ride - education, money, welfare etc, then the blacks and maoris will come after those in government with their sticks, bows and arrows, and axes!! BASICALLY, IT SUCKS TO BE WHITE IN NZ BECAUSE THE BLACKS RULE!!

  4. If its true that the Blacks or Maoris rule over here then why do I live in a one room flat in the eastern bay of plenty and work at a job that pays the minimum rate?

I think its called 'choice' and although I'm not exactly over the moon about my situation I can honestly say that I work hard, do my best, havnt committed a serious offence so as to warrant a guest appearance at Her Majestys Backpackers for the naughty boys, help out in community events when and where I can and generally live a good law abiding life.

Political Correctness stems way back. It is interesting to point out here that it was used widely in left thinking politically motivated parties. However this was radically shifted to extreme right thinking groups in the 1990's especially the USA where it was used to discredit the old and new left.

What started out as a belief system of 'doing the right thing' or lately 'best practices' has also been tagged and labelled 'politically correct' or 'politically incorrect'.

When governments apply policy or procedure and its viewed by some as politically correct then we as a people have to determine whether or not the 'intent' or 'motivation' is based on what is incredibly best for all. We have the right to debate and discuss it. It is what determines us as a truly democratic nation. The right to question.

Why is the New Zealand government so politically correct?

The answer lies with its people and why they allow it to continue in its present form.

The Maori have an incredible proverb which goes like this.......

..."It is the people, the people".........
