  1. b/c he thinks it's blasphemous

it says that right in the article! did you read it at all? lol

  2. Gee I don't know.  Why would a Christian leader be upset about the mockery of the most sacred symbol of the Christian faith?

  3. It's mockery.

  4. The cross is a sacred symbol for Christians because it represents the place where our sins were removed and grace effectuated. How many scientists would get offended if Christians started burning effigies of Darwin (I am not condoning this, just a counter example). Or if Martin Luther King was portrayed in a painting as a drunken slob who only wanted money? Of course this is offensive. Think about what is sacred to you. That said, the artist had a right to do it, and the Pope had a right to condemn it, just like I have a right to boycott it.

  5. It's a joke, I'm sure the Pope will get over it.

  6. Extremism is creeping into religion!!

How many thousands if not hundred of thousands have been crucified by the Romans and others yet the Pope seems to want to claim the image as solely Christian!!

Yet another example that modern Christians seek to dictate to the world!!

  7. You need to learn about blasphemy and freedom of speech.

Blasphemy is speech, thought, or action involving contempt for God or the Church, or persons or things dedicated to God. The crucified frog is clearly blasphemy to most Christians.

The whole crucified frog thing is a freedom of speech issue. If an artist, using her or his freedom of speech, is going to create a piece of art then he or she must allow others to use their freedom of speech to praise or condemn the art.

Why does it seem that the Pope is the only one in the world who is not allowed freedom of speech?

    With love in Christ.

  8. Do you really need to be told?

  9. we all know that there is only one person well known to the world who was crucified and the Jesus the Christ.

a crucified frog is obviously a form of mockery.

  10. Because it's a mockery and offends many. If it was Muhammad hanging up there it wouldn't have lasted longer than 1 minute.

  11. I don't even get it.  Frogs are cool though.  I guess the frog and the pope can duke it out.
