Why is the Sonic restaurant so popular?

Drove by the new Sonic drive in restaurant and it is packed... What is the big deal?

Because they have excellent marketing techniques that appeal to a large crowd esp. the young teen crowd.  They also appeal to the older crowd who grew up remembering the concept of having car hops in roller skates deliver food to your car, havent you heard they play some of that oldies music sometimes? Also they have a broad menu with items sold at all times during the time they are open.

Well, it depends on what time you went by there. If it was around lunch time, then that explains it all. If it was around happy hour then that also could be the reason. Personally I LOVE Sonic! I go there just to get ice. I also like the Raspberry Iced Tea and the Cherry Limeades.

their milkshakes, I have never had one but dang, I have never seen so many sonic commmercials in my life!

You probably don't see the appeal because you're too young to have ever gone to a drive-in for a meal and a coke.

The appeal is to an older crowd.

I've been to one and it was completely disgusting. The customer service sucked, the food was awful even for fast food and it was terribly prepared, and my side of onion rings was ONE burnt onion ring..disgusting. People go there because they're obese and will stuff anything into their mouths..I don't personally know any sonic fans.

It's been around for over 50 years. They have over 168,894 drink combinations and an extensive menu. Where else can you get a dr. pepper with chocolate or a sweet tea slush and have a waitress on roller skates deliver your food? They also have happy hour from 2-4 everyday which includes half price soft drinks and slushes.

Maybe because they have the best luring commercials.  Everyday it seems they have a new ice cream flavor or drink.  

I don't care for it though.  Something about the food just tastes gross to me.  My husband loves it though.  I'm just happy that the closest one to us is an hour and a half away.

everybody likes to go somewhere unique like the drive-thru thing they got going.  the prices are nice and their food is amazing. they are really known for their desserts and their sonicburger.  maybe that's why everybody is there.

Don't know maybe it is their ads and the drink choices. There isn't one here for 50 miles but we see the ads on TV daily.
