  1. Because FOX paid the most money for the broadcast rights and they can do what they want with it.

  2. Because speed is the channel dedicated to all things racing

  3. because they payed for the contract and rights to air it.

  4. Like NBA and NHL they show the All-star on cable

  5. Because speed is the channel dedicated to all things racing.

  6. strangely enough, i think i have to agree somewhat, but i'd put it differently.  being such a "day-long" type of event (week-long actually), and more specialized in its format, i don't think any of the major broadcast networks want to devote that much time to an event that really is designed for the more devoted fan. it's hard enough to explain strategy and even why someone should like nascar during a normal race - imagine the confusion throwing this at the general public would cause ;-)

and, because it belongs there - they have the best overall coverage for motorsports - especially nascar, and it makes a good fit.  i'm glad to see it there, especially with the other option being espn (shudder).

  7. Speed is part of the FOX family of networks.  FOX just wants to give SPEED some exposure that it normally doesn't have.  That's why they show the Daytona Duels also.

  8. My cable company doesn't offer "speed" channel. Wish I could see it.

  9. Because the format is too boring for all but us diehards.

  10. I agree with the two above plus I think because it's a "non-regular"/no points race, other channels are likely not interested.
