Why is the Top Contributor removed ?

I have participated in Y/A, for sometime now, and have had that title added and remover several times. Can anyone tell be why ?

TOP CONTRIBUTOR:-

♦The Top Contributor Badge is removed if you DO NOT participate in Yahoo Answers (The category in which you earned that badge) for a Long time!

♦An other reason is that if you DO NOT get Best Answers for your answers then you'll be losing that badge.It has been said that you need a minimum of 10-11% of BA in whichever category you choose!

Remember that the TC badge is temporary,which means you may earn it one week and lose it the other week! To get it back START answering in w\the category in which you have lost that badge and you'll regain it back!

♦IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

•You have to earn a minimum of 200 points per week to retain that badge!

•You can get 3 badges for the TC also some users have 4.

•The badge is awarded ONLY on Monday Mornings and if the above

conditions are met then you'll have that Orange bar below your account.

•The badge is TEMPORARY and will disappear soon if you don't answer

or get Best answers. It takes at least 2-3 weeks to become a TC

depending on your ACTIVITY and the Best Answers you get in a week.

•You cannot become a TC in certain categories like Polls And Surveys,

Jokes and Riddles as these categories do not help in ‘GAINING’

knowledge and are based on opinions of other people.

•HINT:-When one of your answers goes to VOTE,

go to the question and vote for yourself (Your answer).

This will increase the ‘CHANCES’ of getting a Best Answer.

As far as I can tell it has to do with both quality (% of best answers) and quantity (at least a couple hundred point a week, I think). If you go on vacation for a week, your quantity would go down.
