I'm not actually talking just about The Sun, I mean all of them.

Gordon Brown has been criticized today for the way he gave a speech - he was moving his arms wrong apparently?? I don't like Labour and have never voted for them and I can't wait for them to get out, however I am getting really bored with the 'let's pick on every single little thing Gordon does and make a big thing out of it' news bias at the moment. I mean if he hadn't had moved his arms they would complain, and if he had moved them they would still complain. I'm not sticking up for him he's made his own mess but the newspapers are just outright pathetic when they try to make stories out of such drivel. It was the same with David Davis, they all kept writing about how he was 'mad' and 'people thought he was eccentric' however the general public didn't have that view and mostly supported him. I'd like to know where they get all this dross from that they write about because they rarely ever reflect REAL public opinion.

  1. Essentially the press are always looking for a story.  If nothing interesting happens during a speech, meeting, event etc. then they have to make something out of nothing!  It's essentially filler until something more interesting happens.  Like the local paper here...the sports pages are full of "x player thinks he will score goals"...there's no transfer news so they have to whack something in.  What do they expect the player to say "no I don't think I'll score any this season, to be honest I don't know why the manager signed me".

Different scenario but the same concept in the sense they always need to make a story out of something even if nothings happened!

  2. I know exactly what you mean, just the other day the Daily Mail was saying that David Cameron got his bike stolen and that he shouldn't be whining and crying because if he is "one of the people" and that he can afford to buy a new one, this went on and on telling the whole dang story. And weeks before that they were talking about Gordon's glass eye and then it was his hair. It just makes me sick.

The American press is exactly the same, tacky, idiotic, stupid stories.  I mean what ever happen to the great articles?

Let's face it this is what journalism has become, unfortunately.
