Why is the UK economy so strong despite the poor weather?

Wouldn't people like to move to somewhere more sunny like Spain, France. Australia? We've seen a huge amount of people buying property overseas in the last decade and people moving to Australia. Does anyone see the UK weather being a big threat to the UK economy? We hear it sometimes in the news saying that our skilled workers are all going.

I live in Ireland which is part of the UK. Why would I want to leave ?

The weather is wonderful, yes sure it rains, yes it gets cold at times. But this is my home, it is my world.

I am happy with what I have .
