we should lock up the low life scum at point of the crime...build more hard time Prisons.....If some of the people want the USA way?? i say YES YES!!....we are a PC correct WRONG Country....what you think???????????????

it's time we stopped worrying about prisoners rights and considered the citizens rights

re open Dartmoor for major offenders give them 10 in there with a promise of double on a next offence and DO IT

get tough on crime the government is a joke

you get better treatment as a criminal than you do as a victim I talk from experience the law is a shambles of historic and pathetic considerations of prisoners rights not to mention corruption

if you don't break the law you don't suffer the consequences but if you do you should be punished not pampered

Everywhere is the same and by the way when you think about it some people in prison actually have better lifestyles than some. They dont pay for anything, they get meals and all required items (toothbrush, bed etc)

Sh*t ain't it, I know of a lad who passed his test - less than 2 months later he landed his car on a low fencing post on a sunny warm saturday evening around 7 pm. He had been drinkin with his so called mates who immediately fled the scene. The worst thing was, his car had to cross a 1 metre strip of grass, then the pavement, before LANDING on this fence post - at 7pm on a sat evening! What are the chances of no-one walking along that pavement - one of the main routes into the town centre! He was lucky not to have killed himself and his "mates" but the biggest miracle was that no-one else was killed, or injured by his idioticy.

And what did he get - probably best if you sit down for this one - or even better LIE down so you don't hit your head when you faint through disbelief - A 12 month ban - reduced to 9 months if he attends a 1 day drink driving course and £150 charge for court costs.

OOoooooohhhhhh scarey - gor blimey definately won't be doing THAT again if that's what happens to you!

He might as well have been walking down a street randomly firing a gun in different directions - bet they would have come down on him like a ton of bricks for that though.

And to think -  you get over 6 years in prison for pretending to die in a canoe!

Cos New Labour are gonna let things get so bad,  that they will have to bring in the Draconian Laws they all dream about for The United Socialist States of Europe.

Prisons are full

Government is concecntrating on looting other countries and filling their pockets and not thinking about inner country issues.

Instead of wasting money fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan they could use that moneyt to build new prisons, new homes and improve level of life and education. Everything is fading away.

They are spending our taxes to fight illegal wars and they are making riches richer and poors poorer, look at BP, Iraq situation has helped them so much that they are making £1.5million profit every hour by suck***ing Iraqi's bloods.
