1. The US Open is not held during finals week;its held every year whenever father's day falls. Why the heck does your school end SO LATE, anyways?

  2. It's held the same time every year. What school do you go to that is just letting out for the end of the semester in June?

  3. drop out and move out early.

  4. the US Open has always been held on Fathers Day weekend.. and Torrey Pines was selected your school could have changed the dates of the finals.. all schools in this area where i live has done benn graduated last week at the latest

  5. The US Open was awarded to Torrey Pines back in 2001/02 for 2008. So your local community has had 6-7 years to plan for this. This wasn't done on a whim.

Typically, fans park at designated areas and take shuttles to the course, since most courses simply do not have the parking to handle tens of thousands of people.

My guess would be that the US Open will be utilizing large commercial lots as pickup areas.

Keep in mind that this event will be a huge boon to the local economy (because all these people coming in will need places to stay (hotels), eat (restaurants), and perhaps take in a few other local attractions. Trust me- there's a ton of areas who would kill to have this event.

  6. Golf is a torturous game for all who participate. It is nice to see they are adding to your misery as well. Look at the bright side, you get to go to college in San Diego. Hard to feel too sorry for you :)

  7. Well!!! I guess the USGA did not informed the university that a golf tournament was to be held at Torrey Pines the week of finals or The university did not inform the USGA or the tournament originators that this was finals week and move out week which could have influenced their decision. Some one has got to get a life.
