Russia Will Counter US Military Moves

MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin complained Friday about "one-way" Western military demands and promised that Russia will respond to US and NATO military expansion near its borders.

"We have been put in a situation where we have to react," Putin said of US plans to deploy a missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic and build new bases in Romania and Bulgaria.

"They tried to convince us that all these activities aren't against Russia, but our concerns have gone unanswered," Putin said. "Unfortunately our partners use a diplomatic and informational cover to hide their real plans."

Putin said Russia closed its bases in Cuba and Vietnam but saw no steps from the West toward compromise. NATO's demands, Putin said, "go one way."

"We have been put in a situation where we have to react. We have been forced to make certain decisions. Russia will always respond to ...http://www.irannewsdaily.com/view_news.asp?id=161380

  1. Ask the Poles and the Czechs.

  2. Perhaps Putin doesn't know that those countries do not belong to Russia any longer!  They fear Russia, will try to take them over again.  I don't hear those countries complaining, if Russia has no designs on those countries, why should it matter to them, those nations have a right to protect themselves from others.  Putin is a trouble maker & has been a thorn in our side since he took over, he wants to be another Stalin!  He feels that since we are involved in two wars, we can't possibly take on Russia also, so he goes around the world stirring up anger against the U.S.  I wish this man would just go away already!

  3. interesting one sided responses so far! i guess some think this a movie of some sort! they are out of reality.  Russia so far has shown good and peaceful gestures therefor no reason for such actions. i wonder what would their reaction be like if Russia did the same IE; in Cuba after-all shouldn't Cuba be afraid of USA? afraid for the Mobs to come back and control their country again? Russia is being pushed and these actions ere a threat to the world peace. all because a few make money out of arms race!  peace

  4. Ask all of the countries around Russia which we FREED under Reagan.  They don't want to be enslaved again by the Russians.  They want our help to stay free from those madmen.

  5. Trouble!?

    What trouble?

We ain't got no stinking trouble with Russia.

You must be a real God fearing man, Bruno. I like that quality in you.

  6. As the father of a friend of mine said when he was in a hospital and they preformed a Cat Scan on his Brain. They preformed the Scan and they didn't find anything. The same thing would happen with George W.

  7. Well, this missile thing has been going on for about three years now.  So it is not new.

The answer to your question is, ":Because we can".

  8. Like 'loandude' says, "because we CAN". We've been the schoolyard bullies of the world for more than 60 years now, and it will continue until someone finally kicks our butt. my guess: China, Russia and India will join forces as their economies continue to grow while America's economy continue to sink into a deep abyss.

China now has $3.9 TRILLION in cash reserves; America now owes $9.7 TRILLION, most of it to China. China now sells more new cars per capita than the U.S.A. India has an up-and-coming middle class. As those countries' citizens begin demanding MORE of the world's resources, they will eventually send their million-man armies over here and take whatever they want: weapons of mass destruction; oil; water; banks; real estate; military hardware - even our women if there's a big demand for western women in the international s*x-slave markets.

And do you know WHY they'll do it??

    Because they CAN.......    -RKO-   07/04/08
