Why is the US considered better than China?

IF the US economy is going down and the China economy is rising, why wouldn't China be ahead of US?

its not that China is that overly communist anymore (I just visited there). The Chinese gdp per capita doubles in size every 9 years at the rate it is growing at. Still, 60% of the population there is rural, and they are significantly poorer.

simply said, the US gdp per capita is $44,000, and the Chinese one is $7,700.

What act/item are you using to be compared and ahead according to what measure? If it is the economy in general, the Chinese are enjoying the beginning of capitalism and an open economy.  They have manufacturing jobs that have been sent there from the US and other countries.  These workers moved from the farm to cities to work and are now able to purchase more than before.  These workers need services and that job sector also grows.  The same thing is going on in India and Brazil.  Unfortunately, the US corporations forget that without US workers having jobs, they won't be able to purchase their products.  However, the majority of the world's population is in these 3 countries and corporations are looking for new markets.

One of the main reasons China's economy is so vast is because of their immense and rapidly growing population. Companies locate their manufacturing factories there to take advantage of low labor costs and are able to build items for a tiny fraction of the cost that it would take over here in America. That's the main reason jobs are plentiful over there, and is causing their economy to skyrocket. Also China's population is becoming more and more urbanized due to Globalization which brings up benefits compared to  traditional subsistence agriculture. People are able to have more money, more freedom, and more options (such as health care, food, transportation) to live a western lifestyle.

Now when you ask why isn't China "better" then America... that's a completely different thing then economics. America is currently the only true superpower of the world due to our advanced military. We, (not trying to brag) could basically annihilate any country in the world with relative ease and safety. This is the main reason many foreign countries "hate" the United States because of fear and uncertainty as to what our next move might be.
