Why isn't the government and President Bush doing anything to solve these issues. It seems like they gave all kinds of tax breaks to big oil companies and promoted free trade. Can't this government promote renewable energy and manufacturing in the US.

  1. they can... but they dont want to. i think the whole us will be burning in oil sometime in the near future

  2. "Can't this government promote renewable energy and manufacturing in the US."

no, its too expensive. govt can afford to give tax breaks to companies whose products the govt tax the consumer since they earn millions in taxes from oil. its like giving $2million to a company that earns you $100million. there isnt taxes on renewable energy and manufacturing because that would price it out of the market.

if u think any government can control supply and demand or are willing to give up taxes, u r joking, arent u?

  3. It is because the Democrats want you to think it is so they can steal an election on another lie.

  4. "Why is the US economy so bad??"

The events of 9/11, the war on terror, Katrina and Rita, the dot com collapse, the Enron and World Com fiascoes, the housing refinance scandals, etc..etc.......the last few years have been essentially pounding the h**l out of the U.S. economy.

However, that's not to say that the government couldn't get a little more prioritized with our energy concerns. The US is perfectly capable of finding alternate energies - it can't possibly be any more difficult than putting a man on the moon in less than 10 years with 40 year old technology or analyzing soil samples from the surface of Mars.

I'm confident that the breakthroughs won't come from Exxon/Mobile, and I'm equally confident that big oil is covertly lobbying against any major shift from oil - but at $4 a gallon for gasoline and $5 a gallon for diesel and heating oil, there's definately no lack of incentive for other labs and research firms from rolling up their sleeves and getting this done - and it appears that, once again, the discoveries will come from private enterprise because the government doesn't appear to be to anxious to try and find any viable solutions.

  5. Its bad because americans who think that putting an american flag on their car or going to war against iraq is showing patriotism. Because americans think they are free, yet keep donating to help spread communism everyday which is bringing their own country closer to a war which they will not survive. Because americans think they care about their country, which most do not. http://www.chinanewssource.blogspot.com. Bush and the government cant stop americans from doing what they do best.....being americans.

  6. It's because of the INCOMPETENT in the White House.

  11. NAFTA and CAFTA

The Clinton's in the 90's create an environment where big business could only profit by sending jobs overseas.

How many times have you called a help desk and spoken with somebody in a foreign country?

How many times, if your in IT, have you been called by a IT Recruiter that is calling you from India, pretending to be in New Jersey, and pushing you to accept a job that he/she can even pronounce?

How many times a day do you buy products made in the U.S.A.

Can you go put your hands on 10 items in your home that are made in the US?

We are suffering from a Wal-Mart economy.

Next time you are there look at 25 different items and count how many where made in the US.

Housing is going bust because the Banking industry did not learn from it's errors it made in the 80's.

Credit Card companies are in trouble because it did not learn from it's errors from the 80's.

If you look back in history you will see that the economy runs on about a 7 year cycle.

We live in the last Presidents economic policies.

  12. Exactly what is so bad about the economy?  There are tax incentives promoting 'green' initiatives.  Oil companies profits as a percentage is less than a lot of companies like Microsoft.

To promote manufacturing in the US you need to address congress and its reluctance to assist this sector.  It seems that Washington and Unions want to make it has costly as possible to make the widgets and then wonder why it is moved out of the country.

  13. President Bush's economic policies are the what is wrong and here is basically why:

Bush has borrowed hundreds of billions of dollars multiple times to pay for various things, many associated with his wars, but also economic stimulus checks, and this has driven the USA to the brink, to the tipping point, meaning that we have nearly exhausted both our sources to borrow

and our potential ability to pay back the national debt. Right now we are in debt as a nation (what the federal government owes to creditors) over $9.5 TRILLION.

Social Security would have been growing and be a healthy program but the government took from that fund over and over again (what we in the regular world would have been called embezzling of a retirement fund) and never paid back any of what was taken, so that is why SS is shakey.  When we are in such a large state of debt, this causes our dollar to be much weakened. Imagine just ten years ago one American dollar equalled $1.60 Canadian, but now they are about equal. The value of our money has gone down, so that helped to drive up prices of everything from gold to oil to food.

Ross Perot rain for President in 1992 to warn the country of the coming economic hardships, and it turns out that he was right.

Some say the USA economy will crash because of this, and others warn that we may have to compromise nation interests around the world because we are borrowing so much much from Arabs and China, so they will be able to dictate policies to us, or they will stop loaning us money.  It stinks, most people don't try to understand it, so most have no clue what is really happening.  This began under Reagan, continued under Bush I, the debt was better managed under Clinton (even bringing it down) but Bush II thinks nothing of borrowing the money.  It is a national emergency that is largely being ignored by most.

  14. b/c you;re ugly
