  1. I have spent the last 40 years trying to help the "less fortunate".

    THEY DON'T APPRECIATE IT!

In fact, they criticize the way I help them--also the way everyone else helps them.

I appreciate everyone's saying how they would help the less fortunate, but after 40 years, I have found that the HELPERS are the less fortunate.

I've been called upon to help the "less fortunate" in their homes. I found out that they were getting government assistance and living in houses bigger than my apartment. They also have more time, fewer worries, and they're not being held accountable for the work they do. They don't have to do any work. They just lie around watching television and eating free food, while the rest of us pay their rent. I'm sick of it.

If I won the lottery, I would RETIRE and have some TIME. I'd spend it all on ME and my family.

  2. we have programs and services, while they do not.....anyone hungry in america has numerous food banks to receive food....numerous tax funded services to receive both a stipend or a medicallly approved payment. Other countries have none of these things....and far more homeless and starving.

  3. (1) To create markets for US products. Stable, prosperous countries buy US goods, and that is good for American businesses and American workers. The USA *cannot* prosper without a healthy global economy.

    (2) To create stability. The more stability elsewhere, the less perceived need for arms build up, the less perceived need for a massive (bloated) military, the safer the USA.

    (3) Improving the environment elsewhere improves the environment here.

    (4) With being the so-called "world leader" comes responsibilities. The USA is so massively rich as a country that it can easily take care of its own people AND help elsewhere. That it doesn't reflects poor management.

    (5) Donor countries gain influence in receiving countries -- that's why China is pouring money and resources into Sudan (oil-producing company) and South America, and why more and more countries are partnering with China instead of the USA -- which leaves us out of business deals and other alliances.
