It's starting to feel like a royally screwed up country. Its violent, the safety of it is starting to get questionable, it's dangerous at times, and the people act like archaic, uncivilized brutes, who want to start problems.

Well not all, but many are like that.

The immigrants that come here aren't the friendliest of the bunch either.

Brutes I say.

It's getting worse and worse and worse and worse.

What do we do?!?

How can we avoid this?

I'm watching this once beautiful country turn into a country of drug addicts, Aholes, cigarette flicking out their window, trashy folk, and the way of life is becoming hectic, crazy, uncivilized and just mean?

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE US!?!?

  1. I think maybe more people are starting to see the truth. This has always been here. It's not new. Our population has increased. But we are also digressing because of insatiable greed. It causes all kinds of social problems. The more rich people we have then the more poor people we have. Why do people think that money is an infinite resource?

  2. Too much freedom, and bad economy that's a recipe for disaster....

  3. Liberals are taking over.

  4. Compared to *which* other countries.  Apparently you don't know that many countries wont let most of their crime news to be known outside their borders.  Read the news from other countries, especially in their native language and you'll be amazed......

  5. Where have you been living?Starting to?What do you mean, starting to?It always has been and if the past and present are anything to go by,it will always be so.How many times have you ever travelled outside your tiny biosphere?

  6. we dont but its getting worse....

WE NEED TO CLOSE DOWN THE BORDERS....UNLESS FOREIGNERS HAVE BEEN MARRIED to an american for 5 yrs or more they shouldnt be here!! Satan is busy destroying this world..

Jesus will come back and pray for it!!

  7. Have you ever heard of the Wild Wild West? Do you know the lore of towns like Chile Verde [Lust in the Dust]?

America was born in violence, and has always been violent and the murder and violent crime rate in the Old West was higher [if you adjust for population] than the rate in New York City, Detroit or LA.

America is one damned violent bloody country and that's a fact and you love it and wouldn't have it any other way, else you Yanks would do something about it.

The Bobbies in Britain don't even carry guns, while Dirty Harry is an American Icon "Shoot first, ask questions later" is an American axiom, a modus vivendi.

Someone once said "He who lives by the sword will die by the sword" [Yesu HaNotzri AKA Jesus].

America has ALWAYS been an extremely violent nation, born violent, lives in violence and its predictable end will be violent and bloody.

And now you know the rest of the story.

  8. If you would read the statistics you'd find it is safer now than ever stop watching the news for awhile

  9. You're mad!

    No-where is safe!

There are brutes and trash everywhere in the world.

Since when has America ever been any different?

  10. Do you have to ask??  It's most obvious. We have too much freedom here and people take it for granted. People do what ever they want to.

  11. It's always been that way.

According to Isaac Asimov's Book of Facts (1979), an Assyrian clay tablet dating to approximately 2800 BC was unearthed bearing the words "Our earth is degenerate in these latter days. There are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end. Bribery and corruption are common."

  12. You only point out the victims of society , most of those very drug addicts and crazy uncivilized people are the ones who are aware of the crises that the country and ( the world ) for that matter , has come to .   You have to understand that the people of the society get their regressivness from the corrupt government to begin with.... Slavery , Wars , Democracy , Capatilism , Imperialism , etc. are the characteristics of the rulers and corrupt people who are in charge. They have embedded and forced a lifestyle upon the people of the nation to keep us from uniting in an effort to bring down the actual criminals.  They have allowed drugs in , they have set up liqour stores around the country in places where their should be support and help for the less fortunate....but instead , they allow the total opposite and create wars that have done nothing but killed our people and created circumstances to keep us enslaved. There's a lot more to it than just the people who are drug addicts and so forth....They are victims as well to another regressor.... You have to ask yourself , " where or how did thier problem or situation come about " ? ...  Those drug addicts didn't kill over three thousand people on september 11th and still have our souldiers dying in Iraq.  Those drug addicts didn't pass a law that allowed our civil rights and freedom to become victimized due to some false claim of " Terrorism " .... know the real truth about life here , it isn't the people of the land who live under the laws who are at fault for this lifestyle we live amoungst .

  13. I agree with you completely...there are a lot of good folks out there but we just seem to notice the bad apples a lot more because people talk about them more and they are always on the news..

  14. Sense of entitlement...plain and simple. We don't want a socialist government, yet we expect the government to do for us. We have become a nation of frivolous lawsuits which in turn affects how we as a society view everyday events and normal occurrences. Look at how many kids automatically think they can sue over something. They didn't get the idea from each other.

  15. Luke, apparently you haven't been doing much traveling abroad lately...

By in large the U.S. is still the land of the free and the home of the brave - and might I add a beacon of democracy to the rest of the world.  :)

  16. How to avoid it? Sometimes one just has to adjust their attitude, and learn how to count the little and simple blessings in their lives.

What blessings? How about the fact you're still here to live another day? That's saying a lot right there!

There's good and there's bad everywhere. Maybe you're just focusing too much on the bad right now. I know that things don't look so rosy right now, and the media just loves to focus on nothing but doom and gloom...but truth of the matter is there's not a period in human history that hasn't had its bad times, and those bad times have always give way to good times and beauty again...and even during those bad times, there's always something to find happiness in if you look for it.

We make the difference...and the way to do that is be part of the solution, not the problem. We all need to get out there and help solve some of the issues or at adjust our expectations and learn to appreciate what good is out there.

For me,  as long as there are sunrises and sunsets, children laughing, music and art being created, beaches to walk on, people falling in love, flowers blooming, there will always been things to be joyful about.

Anyway, whenever I start to feel discouraged about the bad things happening in the world, I think of the final lines of the Desiderata, and it helps to calm me.  So maybe it might be helpful to you:

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,

it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
