Why is the United States not doing a shock and awe in Russia?

The USA pushed out the Iraqi military in 1991 when Iraq invaded Kuwait so why is the USA only talking and no action?

cause US has balls only for playing little dirty games with silly naive leaders like Saakashvili againist Russia or kill civilians.... or may hang their prisoners in front of the whole world and call others "dictators" and "barbarians".... US is responsible for whats going on now, and they were after that, how dissapointing-russians no longer fighting, is it?

The citizens of the united states are sick and tired of their sons, brothers and husbands fighting for some one else. Personally I think if the US moved into Georgia right now there would be a lot of unrest here

Same as Darfur, why isn't Bush invading there and trying to save hundreds of thousands of lives that have been lost??.....oh I forgot, Iraq was a much bigger problem with all the weapons of mass destruction...

Because back then we could win a war in a month and it only cost millions of dollars. Now it costs billions of dollars a week for a war and it takes years upon years to fight. Besides there is no OIL in Georgia that is major helpful to anyone.

We're working on agreements and diplomacy.  Iraq made no secret that their aim was to take over Kuwait.  We'll see what the Russians decide to do.  And it's obvious, even to you with your ignorant rhetorical question, that we're not going to risk our entire country easily because Russia is big and powerful.  Aren't you lucky you live in the USA.

Why should it always be U.S? World seems to look down on us and whenever sh*t happens we gotta clean it up?( Ex. WW1 AND WW2). I think we should let the world and especially Europe solve their own mess for once, so that they can appreciate a country that saved them from Hitler.

Because russia has thousands of nuclear weapons. Besides USA has killed far more people in Iraq then Russia has done in Georgia and they are both doing the same thing ironically. lets liberate some people and whilst we're at it we will grab some oil/prevent you getting into NATO.

The U.S. is in no position to get involved with another military debacle.  We don't even have enough troops for Bush's "war" in Iraq. Who's going to go to Georgia? You?  The United States doesn't own the world and now I think everybody knows we can't go pushing our weight around and expect the situation to come out in our favor.  If what happened in Iraq was truly a "noble endeavor", then we would have been successful and it would have been over by now, but since it was based on lies and supposed "faulty intelligence", instead of "Shock and Awe", it's more like "Crash and Burn".  Gee thanks George W. 1 Russia is not broke, they are one of the wealthiest nations in the world, mostly because of their oil.

Why - Have you considered where it would lead... Russians don't go down easy... remember WWII.

Add to that, how then would we be viewed when we would have served to further the war...

In time the UN will decide how to respond. The UN was set up for this type of situation... let them do their job.
