Why is the Yahoo360 photo uploading service working badly?

Question

No matter how many pictures i upload, my profile shows just one photo (or blank) in one case.

In another case, after uploading photos, the service shows the photos but also a white square with a little red "x" its upper left corner ---> meaning that in that white square a picture should've appeared on the profile after uploading. When you click on that square, other pictures uploaded and showed on the profile disappear!!!

+ the photos on Yahoo360 cannot be seen on Yahoo Answers when used as avatars!!!

Umm- nice question dear.

It seems as though 360 is just another victim of Yahoo's continued ineptness to grow an idea. Chat, groups, 360, pics, the list grows. They start out with incredible platforms then allow them to degenerate into something unmanageable, and for the user... unusable. Sort of fits their business model doesn't it? Not to bash, despite the hard hits I'm delivering... but I've been on Yahoo, since day 1 in some guise or another. Remember Excite? That will be YaHoo if they don't get aggressive and make some sense out of their portals. Just another  mail server. At least the spam & advertisments has gotten better! I never see those offerings fail here. Whoops Take a coffee break, we need a breather....

It happened to me too...It is because your Internet speed is slow...It is not uploading the properly...

Just wait a few minutes..Usually in the late evening download are faster.

and you are right..360  is very slow lately...I guess they are having problems after the updated over the weekend

Well.. my friend.. don't feel lonely in your plight! I bet this same question is asked here at least 20 times a day.

Yahoo is doing some changing of the 360 site.. a new profile platform is what they keep telling us they are doing.

Anyway they have stopped doing maintenance on our 360's about 4 months ago.. or more..

This issue you are having is a very common one.. You can read about this transition and why we are falling apart in the 360 by going to the top of any of your 360 pages and clicking onto the Yahoo360News option there.. it will link you .. "MAYBE" ... to the 360 Product Blog. This is all the information anyone has about the problems and promises Yahoo has made to and for us.

Some people can't upload any pics, so consider yourself fortunate. You may still find people with 4 pics in the module though.

Make sure that the image that you are using is a JPEG formatted photo (with .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe extension) under 5MB that's saved to your hard drive.

If you happen to have a red x in a spot, you can delete a remaining picture to possible get rid of that empty placeholder. But really, I recommend that you leave the module completely alone because it can cause other serious problems on your page like it making your Top Page very long - which may or may not be fixable. There is really nothing that can be done about this issue and if you try to mess with it, you are taking the risk of having worse things happen. This has been a buggy module for a long time.

Also, please note the 360 community guidelines (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui...  ) regarding mature content. The personal profile area is a public area, which can't be changed from that status. Adult images must be placed ONLY in the blog under mature content controls. If you have been reported for adult images in that module or in the 360 background, then Yahoo could have removed those images. This inadvertently could have resulted in those spots being lost as well.

The Y!360 team is no longer fixing glitches, so there is no point in contacting them. They are preparing to move the service to a new platform in the 2nd half of 2008, which you can read about here: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 .
