  1. Hey, I knew you would have this question :)

The problem is that your shoulders are not going up when making contact with the ball.

If you make your **shoulders** go up, like shruging them, while keeping your arms straight but not swinging up, the ball should go forward to the setter instead of going backward over your head. It would also make the platform look more "flat". Some coaches could suggest that by pointing your thumbs down would help getting your shoulders up.

Hope this helps. Have fun playing volleyball.

  2. dont swing your arms!

  3. Roll your shoulders forward when you are preparing to pass the ball if you watch your platform it will flatten out which gives the vb more direction. Also never keep your weight on your heels, always be on your toes.

  4. If the ball is going backwards, you are contacting the ball too high.  Your contact point needs to be around your knee level.  You are contacting the ball near your face.  As the above answers say, you are swinging your arms.  But you have to swing your arms in order that the ball would not hit you in the face.  Make sure the ball is lower on your body.  Move back so that the ball approaches your knees, not your face.

  5. you need to bend your news and keep your arms straight when you hit the volleyball

  6. either

    1. your weight isnt forward

    or

    2.you're swinging your arms.

  7. you're swinging your arms!! be sure to just shrug your shoudlers and the ball will go to your target!!

  8. you might be doing what i call praying.  you start with your arms bent and your ahnds close to you.  Then when the ball comes you extend to meet it.  That's what I usually find I do when it spins backwards.  [its called praying b/c it looks like your praying]

  9. DON'T SWING YOUR ARMS!!! if your moving your arms when you try to pass, the ball will go backwards. Instead, Bend your knees and stick your arms out in front of you and make a "platform" with your arms--make it parrellell to the ceiling.(sorry for the misspell) when the ball comes slightly push with your knees and aim it toward ur target.

  10. WAY too much topsin

anyway, a bump should ideally have no spin on it.

shrug your shoulders, push slightly with your bent legs.

  11. The ball is going to go where your arms are directing.  That means don't swing your arms.  Have your arms face the direction where you want the ball to go.  Here's a good example on how it should look like when you are passing.
