Why is the basketball game tape delayed on the west coast?

It's not even on yet. I find this ridiculous. NBC please don't tape delay the basketball game on the west coast next time.

Because NBC sucks! I live on the west coast and had to watch it on Canadian TV to see it live

It does suck, but they do it that way so that the biggest audience can see it. There is a 12 hr time difference, and most everything you see for the Olympics are tape delayed one way or another.
