    Oddities

The Guinness Book of Records holds the record for being the book most often stolen from public libraries. So I'm wondering too. Could it be that they haven't read the ten commandments Yet? And why would libraries be different than book stores?

  7. Because they haven't read it yet?

  8. God helps those who help themselves?

  9. Teenagers.

  10. I watch alot of Art Attack.

  11. Because it's near the front, and the toilet paper is waaaay down the back in most general stores.

  12. The Bibles an exeption. Every single Christian knows that.

    Duh!

  13. My friend stole a bible and nailed it to his wall.

  14. Hypocritical? I think yes. "just have some fatih that what i say is correct." Why are we allowed to have :fatih" in you, but not in Christianity.

Why are you intent on harassing Christians? Religion is a choice. We choose to be Christian, and it bothers you why?

  15. Bookstore manager here.  It's true.  Bibles and Manga and the most stolen books, at least in our store.  Followed closely by computer manuals.  When caught and confronted, the thieves say the same thing every time.  "God wanted me to have it."

  16. Matthew 9:12

Jesus said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."

  17. Because people are curious about it. People who don't want to be seen buying a bible steal it.

  18. And he would answer and say to them, "The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise." luke 3:11

One of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was going to betray him, asked, Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and given to poor people?" Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box, he used to pilfer what was put into it. Therefore Jesus said, "Let her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of My burial. You will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me with you." john 12:4

to give is to defeat the purpose of thievery, and God shows us by judas the fate of the one who lives for the things of this world and shuns Jesus -he pocketed the treasury.

  19. Well.

I bet it is not the number one book stolen in China (25% of the World`s population) Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, India etc..etc..

It is probably only the number one book stolen in the USA and I have no statistics to prove that, I go purely on your surmise. It would indicate that American Christians are thieves or that particular book is useful by way of it`s weight, shape or size for some other purpose, the like of which I cannot imagine, but, nonetheless, it gets stolen and that proves only that there are thieves.

  20. Actually, a girl I talked to that worked in a bookstore once mentioned the most often stolen book was the Satanic Bible.

  21. I don't believe you either.

You expect us to have faith in what you say but you don't have faith in what Jesus said?

    Sorry.

  22. Thieves go for Bible, but ignore Ten Commandments

“It’s true, it’s absolutely true,” said Kevin Finn, the manager at Book People, an independent bookstore in Austin, Texas. “The most shoplifted book is the Bible.”

Why? “Perhaps people feel the Bible should be free,” he said. “The average King James Bible with a zipper is about 35 bucks.”

  23. Sorry dude...I really needed toilet paper.

  24. That's a new one, it's not true but at least it's something different

Why would I have faith in what you say?  You worked in one particular bookstore, if The Bible was the most stolen book there that hardly means it's the most stolen book at all bookstores.  I will give you credit for some originality though none for truthfulness, however originality on YA is just as rare as truth.

Like I said, this a somewhat original lie so that counts for something I guess.

  25. I suspect you are a troll and the question is made up. If not, I pray that those who read the Bible which they stole repent and return to pay for it.

  26. I can't believe that is true ! Perhaps they believe they will B 4 given !!!

  27. I've also worked in bookstores, and I can say that your claim is quite false. No, you have no "proof". You only have "observer bias".

And, some bibles are just the right size to replace a missing couch leg...

  28. Thieves only want something they can re-sell.  The Bible is popular.

  29. And the lord sayeth unto moses you forgot the one about book store theft.

  30. I hear those thin pages make great rolling papers.

  31. I think the person who said it's resellable has it right.  It is, after all, the best selling book in the world.  I, for one, am glad it's getting stolen.  Maybe some people are reading it who wouldn't otherwise.
